Russian stocks may rebound on better foreign background

MOSCOW, Mar 2 (PRIME) -- Russian stocks may rebound at the opening on Monday amid an improvement of the foreign background, analysts said.

Before the start of trading in Russia, the U.S. stock index futures are growing by 1.8%, and oil prices are gaining above 2.5%, Alor Broker analyst Alexei Antonov said.

“So we will open with strong growth, of around 3%, today. However, it is difficult to say yet whether today’s positive dynamics are just a rebound or markets will enter the stage of slow recovery, which will be accompanied by sales days. In any case, we expect a rebound of the U.S. market by at least 5%,” he said.

Olma senior analyst Anton Startsev said, “An increase of the RTS Index is likely at the start of trading today. The reason for the manifestation of optimism on world stock exchanges was information signals from global central banks, which are ready to apply monetary methods to support the economy in response to the negative impact of coronavirus.”
